The Volkswagen is made by the mixture of the Cabrio and also the sports vehicle Volkswagen produced since the Corrado. The name EOS is taken from the name of the Greek goddess of dawn and wind. Before it was produced in mass it was shown in the Motor Show that was organized in September 2005, and also in January 2006 in Los Angeles Auto show.

EOS was the standalone model with all new body parts, but it shares the platform and some components of the Passat. The wheel base was matching the Golf model and Jetta. But the roof was made unique with five piece folding hard-top with an inbuilt glass sunroof. The sunroof was automatically folded by click of a button.

The car was available with five engine choices. All were front-wheel drive and Euro-4 complaint. The engines were:

(4) 2.0-liter, I4, 147 KW (200 hp) turbocharged gasoline engine, manual- or DSG-6 gearbox
(5) 3.2-liter, V6, 184 KW (250 hp) gasoline engine, DSG-6 gearbox

Though the production was started in 2005 the deliveries were delayed due to the wind noise problem. And the car was finally on the road in 2006. And later when it was on the road the company again got success in spreading the magic with one more super model.
