The Pontiac Vibe was first introduced in 2002, but the model that was sold in the beginning was a 2003 one. This vehicle is still being produced today by the New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., also abbreviated as NUMMI, which is a collaboration of General Motors and Toyota. It has always been built in the California plant in the United States.
The Pontiac Vibe is classified as a compact car and comes in a four door hatchback style. The first generation of Vibe was built from 2003 until 2006 and there were three trim models offered. The trims offered during the first three years of production were the base trim, the GT and the all wheel drive version, however, with the second generation of Pontiac Vibe that was introduced in 2007 there is only the base trim available.
