Pontiac Torrent
The Pontiac Torrent is categorized as a mid-size crossover SUV that was first introduced under the Pontiac name by General Motors in 2006. Although this is a new model, its end is already been made known to the public, but no further details are mentioned. According to industry news the end is planned for 2010 and the only explanation that is known as of now is that this is due to a changing process within GM itself and because Pontiac will once again only produce cars and no more SUV's, vans, or anything of that kind.
The Pontiac Torrent is actually built by CAMI automotive in Ontario, Canada for General Motors. It is based on the GM theta platform and always has a 3.4 L V6 engine and a 5 speed automatic transmission. There is, however, a new trim known as the GXP and this has a 3.6 L V6 engine along with a 6 speed automatic transmission and a standard handling package. This special trim also features 18 inch wheels.
