Pontiac Sunbird
The Pontiac Sunbird was built in intervals over a long period of time by General Motors. The first generation was made starting in 1976 and ended in 1989 and was classified as a subcompact car. The Pontiac Sunbird then came back again in 1982 and stayed until 1994 and was this time around classified as a compact car.
The first generation was built on the H body platform and was manufactured in different plants in the United States, Canada and Mexico. There were 4 body styles available and they were the 2 door coupe and station wagon and then there were two different 3 door hatchback versions, one known as the Astre. The second generation from 1982 until 1988 was now only produced in Mexico and the US and in addition to the old body styles, there was also a 4 door station wagon and sedan available and the same is true for the third generation built between 1988 and 9914. The second and third generation models were also now built on the J body platform and it should be mentioned that the third generation Pontiac Sunbird was only sold to the Mexican market.
