The Pontiac Parisienne has a long history, and especially in Canada. The Parisienne first came out on the Canadian market in 1958 and was produced until 1986. This car was also sold in the United States from 1983 until 1986, where it was a replacement for the Catalina model. The assembly of the Pontiac Parisienne was in Ontario, Canada for all the years of its production.
The Pontiac Parisienne was classified as a full size car and was built on the B body platform. There were three different body styles in Canada, the 2 door coupe, the 4 door sedan and the 4 door station wagon. The 2 door coupe was not available for sold in the United States and was only made for Canada up until 1983. The two trims available were the base and brougham ones, with the brougham being somewhat more luxurious on the interior. This car model from Pontiac was not a bad seller and was economically seen as good for this division of General Motors.
