The Pontiac Montana SV6 is the name of the second generation of Montana which was produced starting from 2005 and was discontinued in 2007. It is classified as a minivan and was the replacement model for the Pontiac Transport. It was discontinued in the United States in 2006, but is still sold in Mexico and Canada. That will also have an end soon, namely the end of 2007, when the plant where the Pontiac Montana SV6 is assembled will be closed down for good.
The Pontiac Montana is a 4 door minivan that was built on the U platform of General Motors. There is only one 4 speed automatic transmission available. There are three engines made for the Montana SV6, the 3.5 L V6, 3.9 L V6 and the 3.9 L LGD version which is also only available for the cars made for Canada. There is also a long wheel base and short wheel base available, and for the American market only the long wheel based was sold.
