Pontiac Grand Prix
The Pontiac Grand Prix has been produced by General Motors starting in 1962 and will continue to do so until 2008, and then it will be discontinued. The Grand Prix is officially the most sold car of Pontiac since 2007, when the sales topped those of the record selling Bonneville.
The Pontiac Grand Prix was classified as a personal luxury car from 1962 until 1987, and then after undergoing changes it was considered to be a mid-sized car from 1988 until 2008. This car was first built on the A or G (only from 1982 - 1987) body platform, but in 1988 production changed over to the front wheel drive W-body platform. There were two body styles built over the years and they were the 2 door coupe and 4 door sedan, and the last generation of cars to be built, the seventh generation from 2004 - 2008 are only 4 door sedans.
There were many standard features included in the Pontiac Grand Prix which helped to keep this car so popular throughout the years, such as air conditioning. However, in 2008 it will all be over with and the Grand Prix will be replaced by the G8, which will be sold simultaneously with the last model of Grand Prix.
