Dodge Stealth
The Dodge Stealth was produced between 1990 and 2001 by Mitsubishi Motors. This car was a so-called captive import, which means it was manufactured by one foreign company, but sold domestically under a different brand name. In this case, Chrysler took this Mitsubishi car and marketed it as the Dodge Stealth in North America from 1991 up until 1996. After 1996 production of the model continued, but once again only under the Mitsubishi brand and the engine that was so popular in North America was now used for the Japanese version.
The Dodge Stealth was classified as a grand tourer sports car and came in two different body styles, the coupe and the convertible. The convertible, though, was only built and sold from 1995 - 1996. There were a number of different engines available for this model, starting from a 164 hp V6 version up to a twin turbo engine with more than 300 hp. This high power engine was built into the Dodge Stealth R/T and was capable of speeds that belonged to the fastest of the day.
