Dodge Rampage
The Dodge Rampage was produced by the Chrysler Corporation between 1982 and 1984. It was categorized into the subcompact pickup truck class and was based upon the L platform of Chrysler and shared a chassis with the Omni. The Dodge Rampage was basically alone in its class during it years of production. There were only two other cars that could compete with it, or even be compared to it and those were the VW Rabbit Sportruck and the El Camino.
In 1984, or the last year of production, Chrysler marketed a special edition of the Dodge Rampage that was known as the Dodge Shelby Rampage. It is extremely hard to find and considered as rare since only 318 of these pickup trucks were built. More special editions were planned, but never came to be because of the fact that Chrysler discontinued this line. That changed also in 2006 when DaimlerChrysler presented the new Dodge Rampage at the Chicago Auto Show. This new version is as big as a full-sized pickup truck, but offers 2WD.
