Chevy Avalanche
Chevrolet Avalanche is a six seater pickup truck by Chevrolet, General Motors. Chevy Avalanche was first launched in 2001 for 2002 models. It is Chevrolet's Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with bench and bucket seat styles.
It is equipped with the "Mid gate system" which refers to the feature of the vehicle that allows the open pickup bed to be extended in the area of rear sear by removing the rear window and folding the back wall of the cabin. The truck is usually marketed for outdoor adventurous trips and as a four wheel drive.
The platform used for the latest models (2007 and onwards) consists of the GMT900 that was introduced in 2006 in Chicago Auto Show. The engines used in Avalanche include either a 5.3 L Vortec 5300 V8 with Active Fuel Management and having 320 horse power; or a 6.0 L VortecMAX V8 with VVT and Active Fuel Management engine providing 366 horse powers of energy.
Avalanche comes in three trim levels - Avalanche LS which is the entry level truck with a starting price of $33,360; Avalanche LT, a mid tier level with a starting price of $34,065; and Avalanche LTZ, a fully equipped truck with a starting price of $40,795.
