The Pontiac Wave was first introduced in 2003 and is still being manufactured today by the GM Daewoo Company in its plant in South Korea. The wave is classified as a subcompact car and is one of the lower priced cars out on the American car market. It is based on the Daewoo Kalos, however General Motors sells it under different badges and the Pontiac Wave is one of those. The Pontiac Wave comes in a 4 or 5 door version. There are two transmissions available and the one is a 5 speed manual whereas the other is a 4 speed automatic, but there is only one engine built into this car model and that is the 1.6 L four cylinder with 103 hp or 77 kW. The first generation was built on the T200 platform, whereas the second generation was built on the T250 platform. Both of these platforms are unique to GM Daewoo.
