Dodge Aspen
Dodge Aspen was introduced by Chrysler Corporation in 1975 for the 1976 model year. The Aspen was produced till 1980 before being replaced with smaller front wheel drive Dodge Aries and Plymouth Reliant. The Dodge Aspen was designed with luxury in mind and that is one of the reasons for the car being expensive. It was a compact car that used to come as a two door coupe, a four door sedan and a station wagon. In 1981, it was replaced by Dodge Dart.
Dodge Aspen, in collaboration with Plymouth Volare, was awarded the 'Car of the Year' award by Motor Trend magazine in 1976. Aspen used to use a four speed manual system and a three speed automatic transmission system for all its models. The engines that were used in Aspen included a Slat 6 I6 engine, and a LA V8 for some models.
The Aspen was equipped with galvanized sheet metal for the body and polyethylene plastic for inner fenders. Many changes were brought about in the earlier models to enhance designs in ignition and fuel delivery systems. Several trim lines were used that included Special Edition and Custom trim levels. Aspen has enjoyed a certain level of popularity among public and is still in demand by collectors and others who have a liking for Chrysler's products.
