Chevrolet R/V was a full size pick up truck by Chevrolet. Its predecessor was Chevy C/K pick up truck but in 1987, the Chevy C/K pick up truck changed its name to Chevy R/V pick up truck. The "R" in the name refers to two wheel drive while the "V" refers to a four wheel drive Chevy pick up truck; which are the same as what "C" and "K" used to refer to earlier.

The name was changed for four years only since in 1991, the name was changed back C/K for some unknown reasons. However, for the four year duration, the R/V trucks were seen on the roads. The logo for these trucks from Chevrolet was "The Most Dependable, Longest Lasting Trucks on the Road".

In April 1987, General Motors introduced GMT400 platform, and as a consequence, the Chevrolet R/V full size pick up trucks were developed in the same year. The R/V trucks were also used for Chevrolet K5 Blazer and Suburban designs. These trucks, similar to their predecessors and successors, were powered by V8 engines which could produce up to 230 horse power of energy to pull quite heavy weights. That is the reason of their popularity as well since they were able to take on huge weights with relative ease while providing a comfortable driving experience.
